Easter

Anderson Easter 2013
Easter was low-key this year. Regardless, it was so much fun!

Every year, we forget to dye the eggs until well past bedtime. It's one of our few traditions, so we do it... even if it's 9 or 10pm!!!

It was Rilie's first year to help. He thought it was GREAT!

Alvin and Alex want me to be in more pictures.

 **KID SPOILER**

This year, Alvin and Alex became Easter Bunny helpers. With help from Nana and Poppi Shortman, we bought the three older boys bikes for Easter. Well... Alvin and Alex accidentally found the bikes and they were innocent in this discovery. Nick and I didn't want to exchange the bikes and it was an accident. We used it as an opportunity to initiate them into the Easter Bunny Helper club.

They seemed to understand. Alvin was a little confused. We discussed the rules: You can't tell anyone else, because you don't know if they are an Easter Bunny Helper yet. When it's time to "discover" what the Easter Bunny brought, you have to act surprised too (they asked dad to hide their baskets and bikes extra good). And... I can't remember the rest (I blame the drugs). We'll see how this translates to Santa Claus at Christmas; we're going to wait for them to ask us.

It turned out wonderful!! They loved getting up extra early and hiding the eggs, treats, and toys. They put Rilie's bike in the laundry room. Even though they had things to find, they loved watching Rilie look for all the goodies they hid. It was touching to watch them grow from receiving the magic of a holiday to giving it to someone else... and perhaps getting far more out of it.

Our Easter Bunny leaves a trail of treats that leads to each basket or special item.
Rilie and Jackson enjoyed eating them off the floor!

Look what we found!

Everyone is happy to share what they found!

Bikes!

(Yes, Alvin and Alex's bikes are the same.)

Jackson in the sunshine!

All our boys love their daddy so much!

Easter Lunch

Every year, we make egg salad sandwiches for lunch.
The boys love it when the color from the dye shows through and makes rainbow sandwiches.

Jackson's new high chair. Everyone loves it!

Outside Fun

Rilie has always loved the outdoors.
He went outside to take a nap in the sunshine.
He started here, but ended up in the grass under the tree.

Later on, we made mud pies.

Jackson loves the outdoors too.
He loves the wind on his face... almost as much as mommy kisses.
