About Me

My photo
Our adventures started in amazing Alaska, but have since taken us to beautiful Spokane Valley, Washington. Our family consists of Nick (Dad), Becki (Mom), and our four boys: Alvin, Alex, Rilie, and Jackson. I enjoy homeschooling our kids and we're excited for what adventures Spokane has for us.

1 week

Jackson is 1 week old today! I'm going to try and get pictures, but our camera is on the fritz since the hospital.

Everyone is adjusting well. My mom flew in on Sunday and has been a great help. Everyone, especially Nick, has appreciated her greatly! She doesn't feel comfortable driving around an unfamiliar place, so Nick takes the boys out after work. They love this daddy time. I'm still on house-arrest, which I'm discovering is a good thing.

Nick had the 4th of July off. He took the kids to Riverfront park all day (the one with the large wagon and fountain to run through). There was an $8 pass to do pretty much anything the kids would want to do. They enjoyed the amusement park rides - Tea Cups, Bumper Cars, Airplanes, etc. Rilie's favorite was the tea-cups... they couldn't go fast enough for his taste. Nick said Rilie laughed manically the whole time. Alex wasn't a big fan of this ride... his dad at the wheel may have been a factor :) Alvin and Alex LOVED bumper cars. It was quite the debate who hit who how many times, "I hit you 20 times!", "No, I hit you 30 times!". The IMAX theater was showing a film on tornado. Now, to appreciate this you must know that Alvin asks for tornado videos on YouTube often, so watching an 1.5 hour movie about them (at an IMAX) was beyond a thrill for him. Minigolf was a bit too structured for Rilie. He wasn't a big fan of going to each hole in the right order... and with so many balls everywhere he just had to collect them... regardless if they were theirs. So, Nick ended that one a little early. Alex thoroughly enjoyed everything, but ended each activity with a shoulder shrug, "It was okay". They ended the evening with Sonic meals, the kids love the waitresses on roller skates. The kids agreed it was the best day ever!

My mom, Jackson, and I enjoyed a quiet day home. (I was jealous not to go to the park though). My mom was beginning to come down with something, probably to do with an 8 day camping trip, jumping on a plane, and going going here. It was a good day for her to relax and recoup. She's feeling much better today.

Hopefully, I can get the camera working today... it takes pictures, but they are super blurry... no matter what we do. Nick's been going through all the settings.
